Position: Chief Estimator/Preconstruciton Director

Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will bring over 20 years of construction sector experience, specifically within multi-family high-rise, education, and healthcare projects. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership abilities to oversee a team of estimators and manage complex, high-value construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
- Lead and manage an Estimating Department comprising at least 5 estimators.
- Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of cost estimates for various construction projects.
Project Estimation:
- Oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates for multi-family high rises, education, and healthcare projects.
- Ensure estimates are comprehensive and align with project specifications and client requirements.
- Utilize experience in preconstruction, CM at Risk delivery methods, and hard bid processes to develop reliable cost projections.
Project Management:
- Successfully manage and complete a minimum of 10 projects with construction values between 30MM – 160MM.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure smooth transition from preconstruction to construction phases.
- Client & Subcontractor Relations:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, and subcontractors.
- Negotiate and manage owner and subcontractor contracts effectively.
- Utilize excellent presentation and writing skills to communicate project details and estimates.
Market Expertise:
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the South Florida construction market and local subcontractor landscape.
Leverage market insights to enhance project planning and execution.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in the construction sector, with significant exposure to multi-family high-rise, education, and healthcare projects.
- At least 10 years of experience overseeing an Estimating Department with 5 or more estimators.
- Proven track record of managing and completing a minimum of 10 high-value projects ($70 million+).
- Expertise in preconstruction, CM at Risk delivery methods, and hard bid processes.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the South Florida market and familiarity with local subcontractors.
- Strong presentation and writing skills.
