Senior Plumbing Estimator
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate Preparation: Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for plumbing projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Plan and Specification Review: Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine scope of work and required contents of estimates.
- Cost Analysis: Perform thorough cost analysis and present findings to the management team.
- Bid Coordination: Coordinate and manage the bid process, ensuring timely submission of all required documents and adherence to bid instructions.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure quality standards.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Market Trends: Stay updated with market trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
- Documentation: Maintain organized and detailed records of all estimates, bid documents, and correspondence.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in plumbing estimating, preferably with a mechanical contractor.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred but not required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software (such as FastPIPE, QuickPen, or similar), Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and industry standards.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) are a plus.
